2017 Community Programs

Total Funds Committed to Our Community Programs during 2017 was approximately $36,770

Donated $300 to the Dallas Tiger 7 & 8 year old Baseball Team (February 2017)

Law Ride by the Blue Knights- $500.00 Donation - This fundraiser provides financial support to fallen officer's families from Georgia. (February 2017)

Donated $300 to the Law Enforcement Torch Run (May 2017)

Donated $300 to the 7th Annual Guns & Hoses Golf Tournament (May 2017)

Members provided a $1,500 sponsorship to our members participating in the Police Unity Tour. This occurred during National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. (May 2017)

Donated $500 to a lodge member in significant medical distress (July 2017)

Made a $300 donation to the "Shoot for the Horizon" program to benefit special needs children sponsored by Acworth PD (August 2017)

Sponsored two teams at the Horace Orr American Legion Post 29 Golf Tournament - $600 (Sept 2017)

Gave $500 to a member in distress (Sept 2017)

Officer Outreach Program - $800 - Provided support, flowers, etc. for local officers and families in need during 2017.

Law Enforcement Memorial (Marietta, GA) - $700 - This event was held May 2017 to remember our fallen Officers in Cobb County.

Back to School Supplies (September 2017) - spent $1,500 on supplies from the Target Store on the East West Connector at Austell Rd. The following schools received supplies:

  • Hasty Elementary, Arnold Mill Elementary, Little River Elementary, Johnston Elementary, Woodstock Elementary and Bascomb Carmel Elementary in Cherokee County.
  • Hiram Elementary, Baggett Elementary, Nebo Elementary and Dallas Elementary in Paulding County.
  • Eastside Elementary, Lithia Springs Elementary, Annette Winn Elementary and Beulah Elementary in Douglas County.
  • Mableton Elementary, Clay Elementary, Sanders Elementary, Bryant Elementary, Clarkdale Elementary, Austell Elementary, Milford Elementary and Birney Elementary in Cobb County

Community Outreach Program - $1,200 spent. This program purchased coloring books, crayons, pens & pencils, as well as other promotional items given to the community at various events during 2017.

Members voted to donate $300 to the North Atlanta Volleyball Team (November 2017)

Thanksgiving Food Baskets (November 2017 - $1,750 spent)
Each year our lodge distributes Thanksgiving Food Bags to those in need. This year the bags have been distributed between Cherokee and Paulding County Schools. Food Baskets were delivered to the following schools:

  • Cherokee County - Little River Elementary, Arnold Mill Elementary, Johnston Elementary, Woodstock Elementary, Bascomb Carmel Elementary, Oak Grove Elementary, Hasty Elementary, Canton Elementary and R.M. Moore Elementary.
  • Paulding County - Dallas Elementary, Nebo Elementary, Baggett Elementary, Hiram Elementary and Dallas Elementary.

Thanksgiving Food Sponsor (November 2017 - $500 spent) - This year FOP Lodge 13 for the first time will join forces with Sweetwater Mission in Austell to provide a Thanksgiving meal to 50 needy families in Cobb & Douglas County. In addition to a Turkey these families will also get one weeks' worth of groceries as part of the "Let's Talk Turkeys" program.

Members voted to spend $570 on 10,000 candy canes for the annual Cobb County Parks and Recreation Candy Cane Hunt December 2017.

Cookies with Santa – sponsored a Day with Santa at the Lodge and served 100+ Public Safety Children with toys, crafts and pictures with Santa, hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and a marshmallow roast. Total spent was approximately $500. (December 2017)

Christmas Food Bags (December 2017) - spent $1,750 on this program. Lodge 13 continues its tradition of delivering food baskets to those in need via our local schools. This year food bags have been distributed between Cherokee and Paulding County Schools. Food Baskets were delivered to the following schools:

FOP Cops & Kids Program - Our program provided Christmas to 127 kids who shopped with Police Officers at the Target Store on the East/West Connector and Austell Rd. $18,000 spent on the children. (December 13, 2017)

FOP Cops & Kids Program - Our program shopped with 30 kids from the Calvary Children's Home and provided gift cards for four kids that were unable to attend - $3,900 spent (December 15, 2017)
