Lodge Business

Many bags of school supplies were put together during the meeting.  These supplies will be distributed to Cobb County, Cherokee County, Paulding County and Douglas County schools.  Many thanks to all who shopped and filled each of the bags.

Treasurer reports the financial health of the lodge is okay.  A complete financial statement is available during each monthly meeting or available from the Lodge Treasurer upon request.

Our solicitors are doing a good job.  Full details of their activities are available at each of our monthly meetings.  ABI is our new business telemarketer for the lodge and  LEO-AFC Inc. is our new residential telemarketer.

Use of the lodge and the associated utilities/ wear and tear cost were discussed during the meeting.  Fee's are likely to increase in the future due to higher maintenance and utility costs.

The air conditioners have been fixed twice.  They are now under an annual maintenance contract and will be serviced twice a year.

Bids to replace the fence on the perimeter of the lodge were discussed.  Membership voted to authorize the executive board to sign the appropriate contract for completion.

All members not current with their due's have been suspended from the lodge.  Suspended members no longer have legal or life insurance coverage.

Some members are not keeping their beneficiaries for their life insurance up to date.  Benefits will be rejected without a proper beneficiary designation.

In the future all members wishing to apply for a Life Membership (retired & a member 20+ years)  must request it in writing.  All members who wish to know how long they have been a member can go to the national website at www.fop.net.   You can go to the "Members Only" area and apply for access.  Once approved you should find a link to your membership information, including the ability to change your address information.

Expired memberships are currently being dealt with.  Members not current will receive a post card in the mail notifying them of the suspension of their benefits.

Check "Upcoming Events" on the Lodge website for information on events.

Legal Representation

Critical Incident Lodge Attorney-  Click Here for details

Members "do not" need the approval of the legal committee if you are involved in a critical / use of force incident.  The member or his representative holds sole responsibility for contacting one of our four attorney's should the need arise.

If you are in need of an attorney for any other purpose a member of the Legal Committee must be called before contacting an attorney. If you do not clear the contact of an attorney through the Legal Committee the Lodge will not pay for the legal services.

Legal Committee:
