voted to allow the Executive Board to meet with our current
telemarketers to renew our contracts for 2010.
The lodge
distributed 100 food baskets to folks in need in Cobb, Cherokee,
Douglas and Pauling County. Many thanks to the FOPA for
their tremendous support of this event.
Fee's for
use of the lodge during 2010 will be as follows: Members -
$50 p/event, Non-Members $100 p/event. This increase
is in response to higher utility and other maintenance costs.
2010 lodge
due's of $75 can be paid starting January 1, 2009. Members
need to complete a new beneficiary form with payment of due's.
Failure to have an up to date beneficiary form could result in a
denial of death benefits.
In the
future all members wishing to apply for a Life Membership
(retired & a member 20+ years) must request it in writing.
All members who wish to know how long they have been a member
can go to the national website at
www.fop.net. You can go to the "Members Only"
area and apply for access. Once approved you should find a
link to your membership information, including the ability to
change your address information.
Our
Treasurer provided a complete report of the financial condition
of the lodge.
Members are
strongly encouraged to review the FOP Legal Defense Fund on the
National Site for complete legal coverage.

Legal Representation
Critical Incident Lodge Attorney-
Members "do not"
need the approval of the legal committee if you are
involved in a critical / use of force incident. The member or his
representative holds sole responsibility for contacting one of our four
attorney's should the
need arise.
If you are in need of an attorney for any other purpose a member of the Legal
Committee must be called before contacting an attorney. If you do not clear the
contact of an attorney through the Legal Committee the Lodge will not pay for
the legal services.
