Membership
voted to accept LEO as our telemarketer for 2010.
Towing for
Kids - December 5th: This program was organized and
coordinated by the owner of Kennesaw Wrecker Service. The
program was attended by Brothers Mestre, Stone, Shrodes and
Gaynor.
Candy Cane
Hunt at the Mable House on December 5th - This program was
organized by the Cobb County Parks and Recreation Unit, but the
lodge purchased all of the candy canes for the program.
The program was attended by about 1,500 to 2,000 kids and was a
great success. Brothers Mestre, Gaynor and Whitmire
attended this event.

Brother
Gaynor presented the proposed 2010 budget to the membership.
All members reviewed the proposal and members voted to accept as
recommended. A review of the current financial condition
of the lodge finances was presented.
Brother
Shrodes attended the Shop with a Hero event in Acworth.
During the event he passed out toys to children in need.
Fee's for
use of the lodge during 2010 will be as follows: Members -
$50 p/event, Non-Members $100 p/event. This increase
is in response to higher utility and other maintenance costs.
2010 lodge
due's of $75 can be paid starting January 1, 2010. Members
need to complete a new beneficiary form with payment of due's.
Failure to have an up to date beneficiary form could result in a
denial of death benefits.
In the
future all members wishing to apply for a Life Membership
(retired & a member 20+ years) must request it in writing.
All members who wish to know how long they have been a member
can go to the national website at
www.fop.net. You can go to the "Members Only"
area and apply for access. Once approved you should find a
link to your membership information, including the ability to
change your address information.
Members are
strongly encouraged to review the FOP Legal Defense Fund on the
National Site for complete legal coverage.

Sponsorships
Members
voted $300 to sponsor Boy Scout Troop #638 on a trip to the
100th Anniversary Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill in Fredericksburg
Virginia. During their trip to Washington D.C. the troop
will visit the Police Officer Memorial.
Members
voted $300 to sponsor the Woodstock Police Explorer Program.
Sick & Distressed
Brother Whitmire asked that
we keep Scott Roberson's family in our thoughts and prayers.
Scott was a former member of Atlanta PD. He was recently
killed in Afghanistan.
Brother Todd Casey with his
recent leg injury.
Brother Steve Goodyear who
will be undergoing surgery on January 18th.
Please keep all
members and families in your thoughts and prayers.

Members "do not"
need the approval of the legal committee if you are
involved in a critical / use of force incident. The member or his
representative holds sole responsibility for contacting one of our four
attorney's should the
need arise.
If you are in need of an attorney for any other purpose a member of the Legal
Committee must be called before contacting an attorney. If you do not clear the
contact of an attorney through the Legal Committee the Lodge will not pay for
the legal services.
