Lodge Business
The time has come to pay your
2007 FOP dues. Please send a check for the amount of $78
to FOP Lodge 13, P.O. Box 360, Marietta Ga. 30061. A $5
late fee is now in effect. Please
send your due's and late fee soon. Soon you membership
will be suspended for non payment of dues. We hope every
member realizes the value of a membership in our lodge.
The most important benefit is access to a lodge attorney should the need arise.
Liabilities
with the way we currently provide legal
representation to members was discussed at
length.
Members present gave input into the direction
they felt the lodge should take. During
the July Meeting the type and amount of Legal
Representation the lodge will provide starting
January 1, 2008 will be discussed for a final
time and voted on. It is strongly
encouraged that all members try to
attend this meeting to make your
feelings known. Not participating and
griping after the fact will not accomplish
anything.
Craig Williams
with YTB Travel gave a presentation on
partnering with the company for entertainment
type reservations. The information
provided is being checked out and a presentation
to the members will be given during the July
Meeting.
All members
are strongly encouraged to update their
beneficiary form yearly. Recently a member
passed away and the beneficiary form on file was
from many years ago and did not list anyone.
Unfortunately, our insurance company cannot pay
the claim.

Brother Rodney "Catfish" Connell was killed in a plane crash.

Members "do not"
need the approval of the legal committee if you are
involved in a critical / use of force incident. The member or his
representative holds sole responsibility for contacting one of our four
attorney's should the
need arise.
If you are in need of an attorney for any other purpose a member of the Legal
Committee must be called before contacting an attorney. If you do not clear the
contact of an attorney through the Legal Committee the Lodge will not pay for
the legal services.
