The meeting was opened with a prayer and the pledge.  The next regular scheduled Lodge meeting is Wednesday June 3rd at 5:00 pm.  Please note the new starting time.  Members enjoyed a pizza dinner.  Brother Pritchard won the attendance prize of $50.00.  Many thanks to all of the businesses that continue to support our lodge.

Treasurer reports the financial health of the lodge is okay.  A complete financial statement is available during each monthly meeting or available from the Lodge Treasurer upon request.

We continue to have issues over due's automatically deducted from CMar accounts with members having insufficient funds to cover the monthly costs.  The executive boards is currently looking at avenues to address this continuing problem.

Regular & Life membership cards have gone out.   Unfortunately, once again we have numerous issues in which the packages are returned due to bad addresses.  All members are strongly encouraged to keep all of their contact information up to date.  All you have to do is click the "Membership Update" link on the top left of this page and fill out the online information update form.  Once you click submit your information automatically goes to the lodge secretary.

Food Baskets – The lodge has decided to distribute "back to school" supplies to some of our local school.  The contents of each bag will be discussed and voted on at our next meeting.

Membership voted to cover $300 worth of expenses for  officers who attended the recent funeral of the Pittsburg Pennsylvania officers killed in the line of duty.

Check "Upcoming Events" on the Lodge website for information on events.

ABI is our new business telemarketer for the lodge and  LEO-AFC Inc. is our new residential telemarketer.

Committee Reports:

Bylaws Committee:

None

Legal Committee:

The recent representation of a Cobb Officer is Magistrates Court by one of our Critical Incident Attorney Bill McKinney was a resounding success.  The Chief Magistrate Frank Cox said as far as he was concerned the case was finished and a warrant would not be issues.  Many thanks to Bill for his expertise.

Florida Committee 2009:

See up to date information on the "Upcoming Events" page.

Sponsorships

Brother Whitmire requested a donation from the Lodge for the annual Georgia Police Memorial Ride to be held April 25th at 9am.  The starting point will be Turner Field.  This year they will honor one of our own, Brother Freddie Norman.  Membership voted a donation of $500 to the ride.

Representatives of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club thanked the lodge members for their continuing support of the annual Police Officer Memorial Ride.  They reported even in this down economy it was a huge success and raised a lot of money for the National Memorial Fund.

Sick & Distressed

A get well card has been sent to Brother Al Hagen due to his continuing battle with cancer.  We wish him well as he continues in our thoughts and prayers

Legal Representation

Critical Incident Lodge Attorney-  Click Here for details

Members "do not" need the approval of the legal committee if you are involved in a critical / use of force incident.  The member or his representative holds sole responsibility for contacting one of our four attorney's should the need arise.

If you are in need of an attorney for any other purpose a member of the Legal Committee must be called before contacting an attorney. If you do not clear the contact of an attorney through the Legal Committee the Lodge will not pay for the legal services.
